Wolves promoted

Wolves have sealed their return to the
Championship following a 2-0 win at Crewe
on Saturday.
Kenny Jackett's side knew a win at Gresty
Road would be enough to elevate them to
the second tier after Rotherham drew 0-0
with Bradford on Friday.
And they achieved just that courtesy of
goals from Kevin McDonald and David
Edwards.
Wanderers were a Premier League team
just three seasons ago but two successive
relegations left them in the third tier for
the first time since 1988/89.
Their promotion also marks a personal
triumph for Jackett, who resigned as
Millwall boss and was then appointed by
Wolves last May following the sacking of
previous manager Dean Saunders.
Third-placed Leyton Orient kept up the
pressure on Brentford in second by
hammering Gillingham 5-1 while the Bees
went down 1-0 at play-off-chasing
Swindon.
David Mooney scored twice for Orient,
with Dean Cox, Kevin Lisbie and Chris
Dagnall getting the others. Craig Fagan
scored for Gillingham.
Preston are already assured a play-off spot
but showed no signs of letting up as they
beat Carlisle 6-1, thanks in part to a Craig
Davies hat-trick.
Sixth-placed Peterborough beat Coventry
to maintain a seven-point gap between
themselves and nearest challenger
Swindon.
At the bottom, Notts County staged a
superb comeback against Port Vale to lift
themselves out of the relegation zone.
Goals from Curtis Thompson and Gavin
Tomlin gave Port Vale a 2-0 lead after 25
minutes, but it was level at half-time
thanks to a James Spencer double before
Jamal Campbell-Ryce grabbed a brace of his
own to give County the win.
Shrewsbury went down 2-1 at Tranmere, a
result which leaves them second-bottom,
two points above Stevenage, who lost 3-2
at Colchester, and but two points behind
Crewe, Carlisle and Notts County.
In other results, Bristol City won 1-0 at
Walsall, while Crawley claimed a 2-0
victory at MK Dons.

Don't know of Portsmouth oo! Lol
