THE SUN
David Moyes is "angry and devastasted" at
his Manchester United dismissal after only
10 months, and also by the way the news
leaked out the day before he was officially
axed.
Carlo Ancelotti has emerged as a rival to
Louis van Gaal in the race to succeed
Moyes at Old Trafford.
Brendan Rodgers can look forward to next
season with Liverpool's biggest transfer
fund to date: he'll have £60m pounds to
spend this summer.
Manchester City hope David Silva's season
is not over. The midfielder will have a scan
on ankle injury today but City are
optimistic he will be back for the last two
games against Aston Villa and West Brom.
Olivier Giroud is keen to secure a new
Arsenal deal despite his wife demanding he
return to France.
Southampton's Jack Cork is a £3m target
for Everton.
Ipswich full-back Aaron Cresswell, rated at
£4m, is on Newcastle's radar but Fulham,
West Brom and Southampton are also
keen.
THE MIRROR
Moyes is disgusted by the manner of his
Manchester United dismissal and was so
unaware of what was coming that he had
been working on four deals for new players
on Monday.
Sir Alex Ferguson will be asked to approve
the appointment of Louis van Gaal as the
next Manchester United manager.
Real Madrid have offered Ashley Cole a
one-year contract worth £3.5m.
THE MAIL
Sir Alex Ferguson played a pivotal role in
Moyes's sacking, after realising he'd made
a big mistake in choosing Moyes as his
successor two months ago.
United's season ticketholders are in for a
surprise this week: they will receive a
letter from Moyes, telling them he's
looking forward to next season and asking
them to renew their seats.The decision to
axe the Scot came too late for the
documents to be changed.
THE TELEGRAPH Sir Alex will now play a
key part in selecting the next United
manager, with Carlo Ancelotti the favourite
on a shortlist which also includes Louis Van
Gaal and Diego Simeone.
THE GUARDIAN
Moyes' failure will cost Manchester United
£211m. That includes severance packages,
non-qualification for the Champions
League and a £150m transfer fund that a
new manager will need to turn the club
around.
